Sucre is the fifth largest and one of the most beautiful cities in Bolivia. Founded by the Spaniards in the 16th century, Sucre has a serene, European air about it. To safeguard its numerous pristine and historically significant buildings, the city has been classified as a UNESCO world heritage site.
The young city is a treasury of undiscovered riches and cultural activities, largely unaffected by tourism. It's also one of South America's cheapest and safest cities, making it an ideal place to live and work.
Those interested in working in Bolivia who want to move away from the typical “backpacker trail” are increasingly turning to Sucre. Despite its tiny size, the city has all the modern amenities and culture of a large city, unlike the more popular attractions of La Paz, the salt flats of Uyuni, and the Potosi mines.
