Meet Me Monday - Get to know Anie, our Norwegian Business Manager!

Hi readers of the Meet Me Monday! I am up today – so let me tell you a little bit about myself 😊 My name is Anie, and I am the Business Manager of team Norway here at Nordic Jobs Worldwide. I have been here a little bit over a year, and it has for sure been a journey!

Tell us a little about your hobbies:

I am a super-crafty person! All my life I have been creative and loved making things. I enjoy using different mediums, such as sewing, knitting, and drawing. Actually, I dont think there is a craft that I do not enjoy! My very favorite at the moment is painting though. I love how it gives me access to absolutely every color imaginable. Also, it gives so much room for error as you can always paint over mistakes, or learn to embrace them.

I also absolutely love cooking. I aspire to be one of those wholesome meal-preppers, however, all in due time. I often find myself wishing for another day in the week, and anohter few hours in a day. I love going to the movies, to art shows and to concerts, and often find that doing meal-prep just isnt on top of the list. But, when I have a free Sunday, one of my favorite past-times is inviting friends over for dinner and making something fancy and yummy.

You work with recruitment, could you tell us more about your career?

Actually, I am at the very start of my career still. I studied international relations in Amsterdam, and finished my bachelors degree in 2020. I moved back to Oslo because of the corona-situation, and briefly worked in debt collection. I applied for a position here as Talent Hunter, and after many online interviews I got the job! I was so nervous, never working with recruitment before, but great training and a learn-as-you-go mentality allowed me to grow into a confident recruiter pretty quickly. Then, I was lucky enough to be offered the position as Business Manager!

What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you go next? WHY?

Ah, this a difficult question! I want to go everywhere I haven't been, and I want to revisit all the places that I have been. However, I have never been to Portugal, and now that we have opened an office i Lisbon, I think this is at the top of my list.

What are your plans for the future?

The future is so big! I plan on growing team Norway and more fields than we are in. I am planning on working from some our other offices. The team is also really new. Together with Pamela, who is now taking maternity leave, I am the person who has been here the longest, and in the last year we have grown to be six team mates. I absolutely think that there is going to be many oppertunities to develop and grow even more as a team.

What is the most extreme thing you have ever done in life?

I think it must be climbing and jumping over the infamous «Svolværgeita». This is a steep mountain in Northern Norway, where you climb up on one tip, and have to jump to another to make your way down. The jump is not especially far, but the area you land on is tiny, and if you look down you will gaze 300 metres right down onto a graveyard!
