Meet Me Monday - Meet Mart Kevin, our skiing recruiter

Tell us about yourself briefly
My name is Mart Kevin, native Estonian and I have been living in Tartu all my life. Working now from home with my awesome team in Tallinn. I am also a cross-country skier and team manager for our own Team Nordic Jobs Worldwide – a truly upcoming ski team in Visma Ski Classics.
Three facts about me
I need to be doing something all the time.
I have a dog, basenji called Watson.
I love to eat, perhaps that is why I must exercise so much, to balance it out.
Tell us a little about your hobbies
Everything to do with sports, mostly skiing, but have grown into cycling and running the past few years and running. I try to stay as active as possible.
You work with recruitment, could you tell us more about your career
I got started along with setting up the ski team. I never saw myself as a recruiter initially, but the flexibility and great atmosphere in the company has been awesome I look forward to our new chapters!
What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you go next?
I love Switzerland. The nature, people and everything has been great on my visits there and I try to go there each year, if possible, of course.
How did you find your way to NJW ?
The CEO of NJW actually contacted me through LinkedIn with a very peculiar message – “Hi, Mart! Are you still skiing”? At first, I was not sure, what to do with it, but I went along. We started talking and while setting up the ski team I started working as an International Recruiter. And I am really glad I took on this new challenge, Because I have grown a lot personally the last year and a half.
What are your plans for the future?
Hard to say, I hope to have a lot of good people around me, that can push me to be the best version of myself
What is the most extreme thing you have ever done in life or want to do in the future?
Recently I did a bike race of 310km in one day! Since, I am not a professional cyclist that was definitely a challenge for me. I also roller skied around Estonia in a week last year! I did 1006 kilometres in 7 days 😊 That was pretty crazy!
I am always looking for new fun things to challenge myself with. Who knows, what I will do, but there are some plans! Let’s see 😉
