This week we will continue our series and meet more members of our worldwiders family. Next in line is courageous Swedish-speaking recruiter Maja from Malaga. Keep reading to get to know Maja, our Business & Relationship Manager better!
Tell us about yourself briefly
I am an adventurous person from the forests of Sweden who has been living and working abroad for the past 4,5 years. I often think why not when opportunities are given instead of seeing the obstacles and that is also why I decided to move from Oslo to Malaga to continue my journey with Nordic Jobs Worldwide.
Three facts about you
I have lived in six different countries (Sweden, Brazil, Malta, Portugal, Norway and now Spain)
I am a bit of a language nerd and know random but useful words and sentences (such as “Who is throwing blueberries?” in Finnish) in many different languages
I have worked as a volunteer in one of the slums of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Tell us a little about your hobbies
I recently started enjoying going to the gym more regularly so that has become a new hobby for me. I balance that hobby with baking sweets which is a passion that I have. Ask my colleagues at the office for reviews 😉
If traveling count as a hobby that would also be one.
You work with recruitment, could you tell us more about your career?
I started working for Nordic Jobs Worldwide in January 2020 and seven months later I got the opportunity to move to Malaga to be one of the recruiters who established the new office in Malaga. I am currently working as a Business & Relationship Manager for the Swedish team.
What has been your favorite travel destination so far and where would you go next? WHY?
My number one travel destination would be Brazil. I would like to go back because of the food, peoples’ attitude to life, the music and the nature. I would also love to discover more of South America in the future!
How did you find your way to NJW?
My friend Charlotte (Shoutout to our Client Relationship Manager in Malta!) had been talking for months about this company and how she saw me as a good fit for the role as an international recruiter. At that time,I was working in Portugal and I had no plans to leave sunny Portugal to move to Norway in the north. Especially not in December.
But Charlotte is a true salesperson and she did a good job convincing me that Nordic Jobs Worldwide, and the role, would be a good match. I got interested in the position and wanted to join the Worldwiders. I am very happy about sending my application!
What are your plans for the future?
Professionally, I want to continue being a part of the growth of the Swedish team and the Malaga office and strive towards new goals.
What is the most extreme thing you have ever done in life or want to do in the future?
When I was 19 years old, I volunteered to work in one of the slums of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. I also went paragliding!
