The Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of regulatory compliance for a gaming company holding a Malta Gaming License. They ensure that the company's operations align with local and international regulations, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and legality. This role involves strategic planning, regulatory monitoring, internal audits, data protection and risk management to guarantee the company's continued success within the framework of gaming laws and regulations. 


You will work closely with our Director of Legal to provide support on all compliance and regulatory matters in the different markets as well as the opportunity to work autonomously directly with other teams in the business.  


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Regulatory Compliance: 
    • Monitor and interpret gaming regulations, data protection laws (e.g., GDPR), and other relevant legislation applicable to the company. 
    • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to all relevant requirements, including data protection.
  • License Management: 
    • Manage the application and renewal processes for Malta Gaming License and other relevant licenses . 
    • Maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities and ensure prompt communication and reporting as required. 
    • Managing licence applications and ensuring compliance with license conditions and requirements.
  • Data Protection and Privacy: 
    • Ensure that the company's data processing activities comply with data protection laws and regulations. 
    • Implement data protection policies and procedures, including data handling, security, and breach response. 
  • Internal Audits: 
    • Conduct regular internal audits and compliance reviews to identify and address potential issues related to data protection. 
    • Implement corrective actions and monitor their effectiveness. 
    • Prepare comprehensive audit reports for management and regulatory authorities, including data protection compliance. 
  • Training and Education: 
    • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees, focusing on data protection and privacy regulations. 
    • Keep employees informed about the latest developments in data protection laws. 
  • Risk Management: 
    • Identify and assess compliance-related risks, including data protection, and implement mitigation strategies. 
    • Establish a risk-based approach to compliance management. 
  • Reporting: 
    • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on the company's compliance status, including data protection and privacy, for senior management. 
    • Report any significant compliance issues or data breaches to relevant authorities as required. 
  • Policy Development: 
    • Collaborate with legal and other relevant departments to develop and update compliance policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on data protection. 
    • Ensure policies are consistent with data protection and privacy regulatory requirements. 
  • Data Breach Response: 
    • Develop and maintain a data breach response plan and ensure that it is followed in the event of a data breach





  • Extensive experience in compliance management, with a focus on gaming regulations and data protection. 
  • Strong knowledge of Malta Gaming Laws, data protection laws (e.g., GDPR), and other relevant gaming and privacy legislation. 
  • Strong knowledge of various jurisdictions. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Experience in managing and leading a compliance team. 
  • Professional certifications in compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) may be preferred. 
  • Familiarity with risk management principles.
