Another new colleague joins the team!

Nordic Jobs Worldwide team have been very lucky in the past few weeks. We have hired some new team members and started with their training at full speed. I wanted to introduce our new multilingual team member, Kasper Sjöblom, a little better, so that all the candidates dealing with him through their processes would be able to get to know him. I asked Kasper a few questions and here’s what he answered.

Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?

My name is Kasper Sjöblom, I’m 26 years old and come from a small (but beautiful) town in Finland called Loviisa. I was brought up there in a Swedish speaking family, which gave me the opportunity to speak two Nordic languages from an early age. Before coming to Norway I studied entrepreneurship and management and worked at a startup in Helsinki. I would describe myself as a good team player with a flair for communication and relationship building. In my spare time I try to enjoy nature as much as possible and my hobbies include outdoorsy activities such as snowboarding and climbing.

Why recruitment?

I have always been eager to learn about new industries, and when I came across the open position as an International Recruiter, I didn’t hesitate to apply straight away. I find recruitment exciting because it combines many disciplines of business into one role. To be a succesful recruiter you need to be good at building relationships, sales, customer service, administration and so on… In addition I believe that recruitment can be very rewarding if you do a good job.

Your favorite location in the world is Ålesund, why?

Ålesund is a city that combines the best of two worlds. It has nature, mountains and beautiful scenery without being too small and empty. I have always liked wilderness but at the same time I enjoy being around people, culture and so on.

You have moved to another country to study and work. How has it been?

It’s been very good so far. I started playing around with the thought of moving to Norway around 5 years ago, so I’ve had a lot of time to research the country. The people here are amazing and the same applies to the nature!

What would you say to someone thinking about taking the same step moving abroad?

I’d say follow your dreams and work towards achieving them. Moving to a new country for the first time can be a scary thought, but once you’ve done it, a whole world of new possibilities opens up!

So, there you go. You heard it from Kasper. It is always good to follow your dreams and take a new exciting step in your life. If you speak for example Finnish or Swedish and would like to find a new job in a new location, you can give Kasper a call. He can help you in both languages!

Now we are off to spend our well-deserved weekend outside in the heat. We wish all of our readers a very good weekend and we’ll be back on Monday!
